Its almost as if I started my first blog of 2015 to completely destroy anyones hopes and dreams of achieving a greek god like figure…because once you try one these things… wave goodbye to planet fitness and say hello to “Here comes Honey boo boo”

I pulled a standard brownie recipe from Food.com and tweaked it a little bit.. ok a lot a bit.

1/2 cup vegetable oil

Directions:

  1. 1
    Preheat oven to 350ยฐ.
  2. 2
    Mix oil and sugar until well blended.
  3. 3
    Add eggs and vanilla; stir just until blended.
  4. 4
    Mix all dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
  5. 5
    Stir dry ingredients into the oil/sugar mixture.
  6. 6
    Pour into greased 9 x 9 square pan.
  7. 7
    Bake for 20 minutes or until sides just start to pull away from the pan.

    Cool completely before cutting.

    Note: I Poured these little F**ks in cupcake pans, because I didn’t have a regular baking pan.

Baked Fresh Cod w/ Beet Sauce …YUM!

Ok, as promised ….I am sticking to my guns with updating this blog daily with some new recipes for your silly asses. Todays featured dish…..dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnn……COD!!!! This fish gets a bad rep for some reason unknown to me…but if you know how to cook the damn fish you can impress with the damn fish… get it?? Good. I decided to pick some fresh cod up earlier last week from a fresh fish market near philly and Cod filets happened to be one of them.. I had some beets so I said F**k it ! Lets do this!!!

This Dish came out amazing… and better yet I have never had a sauce accompaniment so delicious and spot on!

Recipe as followsย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Fresh 5oz Cod filet (No skin, Healthier for you fatty ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fresh Lemon

1 Beet (Skin on is fine)

3oz of Beet Juice (you get the juice from the beets…ill explain)

1 Tsp of sugar

some olive oil (better than butter, bikini season is coming up )

Preset your oven to 450 degrees. Get a baking pan or roasting pan and oil up the bottom of that bad boy.

Take your fresh cod filets and evenly lay them out on the pan. Add sliced lemon to the tops. Sprinkle some sea salt over top.

Get some water to a rolling boil and boil your beet or beets. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Fish will bake for 25 minutes. Any more and you’ll be risking a batch of dried up cod …..ummm no thanks..

Boil your beets down until fork tender, than remove beets and set them aside. Take a frying pan and add about about 3oz of beet juice and cook high. Cube the beets up and add to the pan. HIGH HEAT! Add your tsp of sugar and swirl around like a crazy person for about a minute.

Set Cod in center of plate, slowly and sex fully (is that a word?) pour over the center of the cod. Garnish with your favorite green leaf or just don’t garnish at all.. either way you just impressed your boyfriend/girlfriend and now your going to get laid.. your welcome.

Becks beer Poached Chicken Dish.. yum!

 

I created this dish the other day when I was bored to be honest. I had some Becks German Beer in the fridge, some chicken breasts, peppers and weirdly enough some Swiss chard just laying around.. ( Broccoli is wayyyyy more common to find ..lol)

Anyway I’m happy how this dish came out… it has a classic french feel with a nice gastro pub kinda aurora about it… you get it right ? ๐Ÿ™‚ You have your poached chicken with a nice pan sauce to finish. But something about the Green bell pepper and Swiss chard really just hit it off with all the other flavors.. it has alot going on in the first bite and that is OK!

Recipe as follows ๐Ÿ™‚

2 average skinless chicken breasts

1 bell pepper (Green or red), Julienne sliced

1 bunch of Swiss Chard (Just the red stalks, no leaves) Chopped rough

1 Bottle of Becks Light Lager ( Try another lager if you’d like I suppose)

Some Olive oil (enough to coat frying pan )

Some Crushed Walnuts ( I used 3 walnuts chopped)

1 tablespoon of sugar

1 orange

Salt and pepper ( Always season your food people, this should be obvious)

Split your 2 lovely pieces of skinless chicken breast length wise. You should have 4 pieces of chicken now. (Math is fun!)

Heat your frying pan up on high heat adding the olive oil when the pan is warm.

Season your 4 pieces of Chicken with Salt and pepper.

Add chicken to the frying pan, letting the chicken sear on either side for about 4 minutes. Add the vegetables.

Now take your beautiful bottle of becks beer and open it up with your teeth like a manly man and pour delicious contents into the hot frying pan.( As you are pouring the beer out..it is appropriate to say “for my homies”) Cover that pan like a boss with a lid. Let it do its thing for 5 minutes. Remove lid and squeeze your freshly picked orange into the pan. Cover again like a boss. Let this all cook and marry eachother for about 8 minutes.

Get a nice plate ready. Uncover the lid. Remove the chicken first with a fork or tongs etc. Place in the center of the dish. Next pile the vegetables high over the center of the chicken. You should now only be left with this beautiful beer sauce in the pan. This is where you add your sugar. With the heat turned up high add the sugar while mixing the pan sauce. Reduce the sauce to marry all the flavors. Seductively slow… pour this over the center top of your dish letting it pool around the chicken and vege. Garnish with your chopped walnuts and a slice of orange.

Congrats you just cooked like a boss and impressed a whole bunch of people! Go you!

Modern Culture.. lost young

2014..wait….2015 actually in just about 3 days… Oh the Future ! How exciting!! hmm …maybe not though? Are we heading in the right direction as a whole? Meaning us human beings, are we beginning to lose our selves to the vast technological excitements and distractions? I think we are.

ย I am 27 Years old. I live in a small town in NJ and I have to say, at 27 I am by all means still considered young… but old enough to realize that my generation as well as the newer generations are becoming horrifyingly lost. We seem to never have any real connections with our peers anymore… except for on twitter or Facebook or whatever…. Even as I write this blog I am reminded that maybe I’m just a hypocrite and ignorant to the fact that the change we all have surcome to isn’t maybe a bad thing after all ? I mean without a doubt society has become more engaged with efficiency and communication. And things that used to take forever maybe only take a few moments now.ย  But are people connecting on the same level that they used to ..say 30 years ago? Are we having real emotional ties to the people we supposively care for anymore? I mean truly do we have any desire anymore to get out there and meet new friends and network with new people and learn who they truly are…in person? Or has taking “selfies” distracted us so many times that we missed a bunch of potentially positive life moments around us? When did we become so self absorbed.. and care so much about our status? I feel the young generations are lost…not becoming lost… but are in fact lost. I feel we are only continuing down a road of self absorbed, phony interacting, half hearted people. And that is sad. We are so desensitized to the fact that we no longer even know how to live with ourselves without our smart phones or computers etc. We do not feel complete if we do not let the entire world know on a status update about how mad at our ex we are or how many times you’ve gone to the bathroom….etc…. Somethings should just be unsaid… just thoughts for yourself ….not expressed to the entire community/world etc to see.. besides do any of us reading that stuff honestly care? I am NOT trying to discredit Facebook or any other social media website for that matter, I am just stating that we have become addicted the “2nd lives” that we created online that we are forgetting about the one that matters..
